  2. Structure-from-motion alignment

    Every frame is registered into one coordinate space, recovering camera poses and a sparse point cloud.

    Millions of oriented 3D gaussians are optimised against the source photos until the scene renders in real time.

Voluma was founded on a simple frustration: every other way of documenting a physical thing — photography, video, even traditional 3D scanning — throws away information the moment you press the shutter. Gaussian Splatting keeps it. Every capture we deliver is the actual optical record of your object, not an artist's approximation of it.

That distinction matters most when the physical thing eventually changes, moves, or is gone — a museum piece, a building before renovation, a production line before a retrofit. We're building the archive that outlasts the object.
